Downtown Marceline applied to the Macon Electric Foundation with a proposal to partner on a project to oversee physical upgrades to the historic Zurcher building and adjacent building in order to secure their structural stability.

With assistance from the Macon Electric Foundation, Downtown Marceline began the process of gutting the building from floor to ceiling.  The funds received were used towards the cost of dumpster rentals, manual labor, and the tools needed to assist for extensive restoration.
