A Heartfelt Thank You to the Pie Bakers and bidders / donors of the 2023 Patriotic Pie War auction… it was PIEfection!
Simple pleasures like a homemade pie can bring us together and remind us of our family and friends. When a community unites over something as delicious and comforting as pie, magic happens. The 2023 Patriotic Pie War auction was Downtown Marceline Foundation’s latest event to bring joy, camaraderie, and a celebration of Marceline’s shared values. We are truly grateful to the talented pie bakers and generous supporters who made this event possible.
The Patriotic Pie War auction, now in its fourth year, continues to grow in popularity. This year’s event raised $1,080 towards Downtown Marceline Foundation’s programs and events that work to enhance the near term and long term quality of community life for those residing in, doing business in, and visiting Marceline.
We witnessed an incredible array of creativity, talent, and dedication as pie bakers from Marceline poured their hearts into crafting mouthwatering pleasures that not only delighted the winning bidders’ taste buds, but also symbolized the unifying spirit of our nation as we celebrate the 4th of July. To the pie bakers who gave their time for this FUNdraiser, and who have experimented with flavors, textures, and designs over the years, we salute you. Your culinary skills and unwavering passion brought life to a wonderful assortment of pies that ranged from Classic Peach Pie, to Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie. Each pie represented a labor of love and an edible work of art that showcased their talents and dedication.
To the supporters who bid on these tasty treats, we extend our deepest gratitude who turned this auction into another sweet success. Without your enthusiastic participation and generous bids, this Patriotic Pie War would not have been possible. Your willingness to embrace the spirit of giving, and your commitment to supporting Main Street USA is inspiring. By participating in the auction, you demonstrated that even a humble pie can become a symbol of compassion and unity.
